The second space or conceived space is that space that is constructed in mental or cognitive forms (Soja, 1996). In this space there are thoughts and feelings of things you see in the perceived space (first space), so it is subjective. It is a normative approach to look at space and award a certain appreciation to this space. An example of something that happens in this conceived space, is saying that the river (Waal for example) or a certain building (the Erasmus building) are beautiful. These subjective meanings given to space are taking place in the conceived space.
