Agency 'Literally, the ability to act' (Aitken & Valentine, 2006, p. 338).Commonly used by many scientists to refer the ability of humans to make choices and decision by there selves. Those choices influence the shape of their own lives. In other words everything in the world is equivalent to a intentional individual actor. This notion of self determination has played a important role in the humanistic critique on structuralist approaches to geography (Aitken & Valentine, 2006, p. 137-338). Athony Giddens is a founder of the concept of agency.
