Presence-availability Presence-availability is one of the three key concepts in the management and organisation of time and space due to Anthony Giddens account of interaction, the other two are locale and enclosure/disclosure. In this context Giddens refers on presence-availability as the ability of different actors to come together. This ability is limited by the physical abilities of the body and the means of transportation. But the last few years the presence-availability has changed rapidly due to the emergence of communication via internet(Giddens 1992). An open office implies high presence-availability, the opposite counts for a shower which is locked. A possible practical geographical research question on this could be: What kind of impact has the rise of internet had on the presence-availability of someone from Siberia(Russia)?
